This 2 years HND in Information System Engineering offers an in-depth understanding of the information system development on which today’s organisations rely. You will explore the systems that collect, filter, process, create, and distribute data, with assignments typically taking the form of coursework, projects and written reports. This more practical learning will develop the hands-on skills you need to launch a successful career in ISE. This exciting programme is designed to equip students with everything they need for a fulfilling and challenging career in ISE. Students will cover both the fundamentals and the finer points of ISE. This includes examining the key technology behind information systems development and application engineering.  In addition, learning is geared toward developing managerial skills, preparing learners for a move into positions of greater responsibility and leadership.

Course topics will introduce learners to the systems necessary for collecting, filtering, processing, creating, and distributing data. Taking a practical, real-world approach to the learning experience, course materials and assessments are built around relevant case studies and current industry challenges. Course assessment is a blend of written reports, projects, and regular daily coursework.

Students who gain good grades on the HND course are for entry to a university for a top up course for the final year of an undergraduate degree course at many universities in the UK in fields related to Computing or Information Systems.

This diploma paves the way for many different career routes. Possible roles open to you include Software Developer, Programmer, Software Engineer, Web Developer or Systems Analyst.

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old;
  • Applicants are required to submit proof of prior certificated learning (e.g. Secondary School Diploma/Baccalaureate/Level 3 qualification) or relevant work experience;
  • Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language;
  • An interview with the college is compulsory prior student registration.
  • Applicants must bring their original certificates when coming for registration;

Government Founds                                                                                                         

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on Indefinite stay, you can receive support from the government via Student Loan Company to cover tuition fees and some living costs while studying, depending on your circumstances. Tuition fee loans, to cover the full cost of your course, are paid directly to the course provider. Maintenance loans can be applied for at the same time, lending you money at the start of each term. You won’t have to pay back the loan until after your course, when you’re earning above a certain level.  Students can still apply for grants if they’re eligible for certain benefits, disabled, or need help with childcare costs.

Government Founds                                                                                                        

This programme has been designated by the UK government for Student Finance, which means that UK/EU students may apply for Student Loans. If you are a UK or EU undergraduate student, you can apply for funding from the government. You do not have to pay your tuition fees up front if this is your first degree – you can get a tuition fee loan to cover your full course fees. You may be eligible for maintenance loan and some extra support as well, depends on your circumstances. You only start to pay back your student loan after you finish studying and are earning over £25,000 a year.
