Without a doubt, Great Britain has become the most popular destination for those looking to earn a degree that will help them later in life. So, if you’re an international student, what do you need to know about the UK?

A place full of culture and history

It’s really no wonder that so many international students choose to study in the UK. Great Britain is one of the best places on planet Earth for education. It has a long history in this field, with some of the best and first universities in the world located on the island. We’re talking of course about the famous Oxford and Cambridge. And they are not the only important universities in the UK.

Great Britain is full of history. From the Romans, to the Anglo-Saxons, to William the Conqueror, the Wars of the Roses, the Duke of Wellington, Churchill and the two World Wars, there’s a lot for any foreigner to enjoy. And if you’re an international student, eager to learn new things, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

And of course there’s the culture. It’s not all about that afternoon tea. Most of the time it’s about grabbing a cold beer at the pub with your mates. And parties, of course. A lot of parties. Great Britain is also probably the best places in the world for young people. You can have fun, you can learn, there are numerous opportunities and you’ll never get bored. This is probably why so many international students rush to join UK universities each year.

Great education system

Another thing that makes the UK so attractive for international students is the great education system. It is recognized around the world as a world class system, being comprehensive and adaptable.

What’s really important is that British universities and colleges focus a lot on practical knowledge. So if you attend on of the universities here, you can be sure that you’ll definitely use later in life those things that you learn during your courses.

Another great trait of the UK education system is the fact that it keeps improving. Thanks to the Quality Assurance Agency, an agency whose mission is to evaluate the quality of colleges and universities and to offer feedback, improvements occur all the time. This means that universities become more efficient with every passing year.

Last but not least, the diploma. If you graduate at a university or college in the UK, you can rest assured that your diploma will be recognised all over the world. This will count a lot with employers, who will also note the fact that you, the international student who studied in Great Britain, are multilingual. Companies nowadays are obsessed with finding multilingual employees.

International students can even study for free in the UK

Another thing that makes Great Britain really popular with international students is the fact that if provides them with the help they need to succeed. The British government is not afraid to invest in education. That’s why they offer loans which students, native-born or international, can access and use during their time in school.

International students can get student financing from the government. The amount of money is not small at all and it can be used to cover both tuition fees and other expenses.

The process to getting the loan might look complicated. However, international students can use the help offered by student recruitment companies such as Atlantic London. These companies work with the universities and provide free services to all students. They can help a student find the best university for him or her, the best courses and even to get approved for government financing.

How to get a university degree for free

Is there such thing as a free university degree? Yes it is. Even in today’s modern world, where cash is king, you can get a university degree for free. Here’s what you need to know.

There are many ways for you to get a university degree for free. However, before we start, we need to clarify one thing. When we say that you can get a university degree for free we mean that you can study for free at a good university, where you can work hard and get your degree. So, if you plan on doing nothing and still getting a diploma, you should know that’s never going to happen.

But if you are not afraid to work hard that university degree you want so much can be yours. You can study at some of the best universities in the UK, with some of the best teachers, and, when you finish, you can be sure that your diploma will carry some weight. And the best part is you can study for free, even if you’re an international student.

Here’s what you can do:

Study abroad! If you’re an international student, come to the UK

Tuition fees are soaring in most places, nowadays. However, there are still some countries out there where you can study for free or for a very low fee, which is almost like studying for free, when compared to what you might have to pay somewhere else. The Scandinavian countries, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, Germany or France offer such opportunities.

These opportunities are also available in the UK, but with a few extra steps. The British government is very pro-student. It offers student financing to everyone interested in studying in the UK. And this goes even for international students.

All you need to do in order to receive these funds is to contact student recruitment agencies such as Atlantic London. With more than 10 years of experience in this field, Atlantic London is now the largest agency of its kind in the London area. Its portfolio includes thousands of students, both native-born and international, who have managed to make their dreams come true.

If you want to get a university degree for free, give Atlantic London a call or check your eligibility online free of charge.

You can get a university degree for free if your yearly income after graduation won’t exceed £27,228

There is only one thing you need to know about the student loan. You only have to pay it back if you remain in Great Britain after graduation and if your yearly income exceeds £27,228. If you never earn above this threshold during the following 30 years, your loan will be written off.

So, if you know that you want to work in an industry where you won’t earn more than £27,228 per year, you should definitely get this loan.

Try crowdfunding

It may sound funny, but it can actually be a pretty great move. Crowdfunding means that you ask people you don’t know and will probably never know to help fund your degree. And you may not believe this, but many people are already doing it successfully. It is not a sure thing and you might have to work harder to get it than you would for the loan, but it can help you study for free.

Visit sites like crowdfunder.co.uk and see how they can help you out.

Sponsored degrees

It is the same as crowdfunding but, instead of a crowd, you get just one sponsor to help you out. This solution is not uncommon. In fact, many international students actually study abroad with the help of sponsors. The only catch is that they may have to come back to their countries and work for the companies that sponsored them, once they graduate.

Most companies are not afraid to invest in competent employees. The big ones, in industries such as IT, do it all the time. Don’t be afraid to go knocking at their doors. Even if you have to come back to work for them after you get your degree, chances are that you will get a good job with a good salary.

Degree apprenticeships

This is another kind of sponsored degrees. The British government introduced degree apprenticeships in 2015. The program means that students can both work and study at the same time. Your employer will cover all the costs.

Full tuition fee scholarships

Last but not least, everyone’s favorite, the full tuition fee scholarships. These are not very common, but everyone wants one.

There are scholarships which pay your entire tuition at both undergraduate and graduate level. All you need to do is to study hard and earn one. It is all up to you at this point.

You can study in the UK for free. Atlantic London is going to tell you how

The United Kingdom is a great place to study and start your career. However, there are some who are discouraged to make the move, due to the large living costs. They shouldn’t be. You may not know this, but you can study in the UK for free. We will tell you how, so let’s check it out.

We spoke to a lot of international students looking to find the right university, one that will allow them to get a good job and to secure their future. We always encounter the same big fear: the lack of money. Many young people want to study abroad, they have what it takes to succeed at the best universities, but they often give up on their dreams, due to high costs.

And they are right. You should be careful with your money. But it’s one thing to spend carelessly and a completely other thing to make a good investment. And investing in yourself, investing in becoming a better professional is never a bad thing. It is actually the smartest thing you can possibly do.

But let’s get back to what we spoke about earlier. Yes, you can study in the UK for free. In fact, if you’re young and looking to grow both as a professional and as a human being, England is probably the best place for you. Here’s what you need to know.

England is expensive, but this should not worry you

There’s no denying England is one of the most expensive countries on Earth. It absolutely should be. The quality of life here is extremely high. There are numerous opportunities, much more than in other countries, very good salaries, excellent services and much more. Given all of these, expecting it to be cheap really makes no sense.

So this is the reality here. It is a reality you need to accept. And you don’t need to fear it. It’s simple. If you want to make money, you have to spend money.

And you will definitely spend in England. Living in a university dorm will probably cost you £50 to £80 per week. Add between £25 and £30 for food, another £10 for the phone and the same amount for your internet connection and your wallet will get really empty, really fast. And this is without factoring in things like fun or school supplies.

You will spend no matter where you go to study

England may be expensive, but the truth is you will spend no matter where you decide to go to university. So, if you plan on not spending anything, this will not happen. No matter the country, spending money can’t be avoided.

Of course, the internet will never cost you as much in Romania as it does in England, but you know very well that you will never save that money. You will just end up spending it on something else, something that may not even be necessary. This is how young people live. And it’s how they should live. Young people should not be afraid to live their lives.

And if you’re going to live your life, you might as well live it in one of the best countries on Earth.

But you should know there is another pretty big difference between Romania and England, not just the cost of the internet. In England, you will have many more opportunities to earn a lot of money. And if you earn enough, then you won’t have to worry about how much you spend to have good wi-fi.

In England, you can study and work part time at the same time. Or you can get a paid internship. Either way, you can study, make money and gather working experience, all at the same time. This is extremely important for anyone looking to grow as a professional.

Once you finish school, you will be able to find a jobs that pays well, in one of the most powerful countries on the planet. You definitely won’t have to worry about your future anymore.

Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself

So you can be sure that you definitely won’t be throwing away the money that you spend as a student in England. Those sums represent an investment in yourself and in your future. If you did not know this, we will let you in on a little secret: not everyone can get a diploma from a British university.

And yes, this diploma is important. It’s not just a piece of paper. It is actually a guarantee, one that will assure your future employer that his newest employee is one of the highest quality, very well prepared and a real professional. This is why you shouldn’t let costs discourage you from studying in England. But if you’re still not convinced we can talk about how you can study in the UK for free.

We have always encouraged our students to apply for a government-funded course, because it’s not only offering you the opportunity to study in UK, but it also helps to cover your expenses throughout the studies. Let’s talk about what it means to get a student loan.

As mentioned before, the Student Loan Company offers you a loan (it funds you) so you can learn in higher education. The tuition fee loan goes directly to the institution, while the maintenance loan will help you during studies. This amount of money it’s paid into your bank account and doesn’t have to be justified to the government.

In order to be eligible for maintenance loan:

  • Must have lived in the UK for three years up to when you start your course;
  • Mush show your last 3 payslips;
  • Mush have a minimum of £750 income per month.

Indeed, you have to repay the loan after graduation, but it depends on which plan you are on and how much you earn (per year). You do not pay anything back if your income is under the threshold.

Why study in the United Kingdom?

The UK has become a favorite destination for European students eager to get a proper education, that will prepare them for the future, but also offer them adventure. So how did the Queen’s country end up in this position? You will find the answer in the following article, an article which tries to explain why so many people love to study in the United Kingdom.

A country with a long tradition in education

The UK has a fabulous, interesting and eventful history. It is no exaggeration to say that this country has changed the world. And one important way that they changed the world is by investing in education, a decision that the islanders made a long time ago.

Oxford University has a history of almost 1000 years. Its rival, the University of Cambridge, is “younger” by only a century or two. However, both have stood the test of time, thanks to the results offered and the extraordinary work of those who have crossed their thresholds over the years. Today, they are two of the best known, if not the best known universities in the world. Obviously, the quality of the education offered there is also at a very high level, Oxford and Cambridge being ranked every year among the top 10 educational institutions in the world, often occupying even the first places.

But those two are not the only educational institutions that bring pride to the hearts of the British people. Great Britain is also home to many other colleges and universities that hundreds of thousands of young people around the world dream of reaching every year. Even in 2020, in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic, 342,620 international students entered the United Kingdom in order to register at some of its universities.

Great Britain has a lot to offer

Great Britain is a completely unique country, being in fact a kingdom made up of 4 different countries (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). In addition to thousands of years of history, it offers a lot of diversity, and also economic power. The latter, in turn, ensures that young people who choose to study in the UK do so in a country that can offer them everything from fun to excellent jobs. And this is why, every year, tens and hundreds of thousands of students from powerful countries such as France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, India or even the United States choose to travel to old Albion to study at its universities.

The UK offers top quality education

Perhaps the most important aspect of the British education system is that, on the island, the quality of university courses is top notch. And they make sure that it keeps being top notch. This is done by bodies such as The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), an independent organization that constantly evaluates the quality of universities and colleges in the UK. In addition to verifying their results and the courses they provide to students who study in the United Kingdom, the QAA also provides tips for continuous improvement.

Thus, at the end of their studies, students can be sure that they will obtain a diploma that will not only be recognized internationally, but one that will also act as a guarantee of the quality of education received. For any employer, this matters a lot.

The cost of education can be quite low for those who want to study in the United Kingdom

Another reason why many students choose to study in the UK is the ability to save time and money. A bachelor’s degree at one the island’s universities can be obtained in 3 years and a master’s degree can be completed in just one year. There are exceptions, though. But they only cover areas such as medicine or law. In general, however, when studying in the UK, a student can save time and money.

Why is the duration of a course so short? The answer is simple: efficiency. Courses in the UK are more compact, more efficient. But that doesn’t mean you are losing quality. Quite the opposite.

Furthermore, in terms of finance, international students can access funding from the British government. They can use these funds to pay for tuition and other expenses.

In order to obtain these amounts, students must meet certain conditions, such as knowledge of English at least at intermediate level or course attendance of at least 80%. Also, in order to access the funds provided by the British state, students can ask educational recruitment companies such as Atlantic London Education for help. With over 10 years of experience in this field, Atlantic London boasts a portfolio that includes thousands of satisfied customers. Its services are free and its experts offer not only advice on how to access these funds, but also useful tips and information on how to find the courses and universities that best fit the student.

A lot of opportunities

For those who study in the United Kingdom and graduate, Great Britain offers many well-paid jobs in a wide variety of fields. Without a doubt, this country is the perfect place in the world for anyone looking to build a future.

Tips and tricks for interviews

For many of us, interviews are always characterized as intimidating moments. No matter if we are talking about a job interview, or, in our scenario, about college/university interview, this stage is a very decisive one. That’s being said, it requires a certain preparation prior to the actual interview time, so it can run smoothly for the candidate.

Because we know by heart all the tips and trick when it comes to interviews – from the way you should dress to the body language, to all the means you can highlight your skills – we have decided to put them on paper so you won’t have to dig deeper to prepare for it.
Below, you can find the most asked questions during a college/university interview:

  1. Why have you decided to apply to us?

This question is one of the most popular ones and it shows how much you have prepared for the actual interview. A quick google search about the institution will definitely be your best friend. And in case you are not quite confident on what to focus, you can mention their reputation, the course/program they offer, or even the leisure facilities that impressed you during the open day.

  1. What are you hoping to gain from the course?

Their intention is to see if for you this course is perceived as a stepping stone for your future career, or if it’s an area you would like to study more in-depth.

  1. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

If you’ve got a plan in mind, that’s great. Otherwise, don’t worry. Most of the candidates are not sure about what they will do after graduation. It is perfectly okay to say “I am not sure at the moment. I hope this course will show me the right direction.”

  1. What do you think your strengths and weaknesses are?

This question can be tricky sometimes. It is very easy to talk about your strengths – you are reliable, trustworthy, a game-changer, etc. If you are a great team member as well, make sure you mention it. But what to say when it comes to weaknesses? Nobody wants to talk about their flaws, but at the same time, nobody is perfect. So maybe you are too competitive sometimes when working within a team? Or get too excited about a project and forget at all about the deadline? Do you have a better plan now to stick to it?

  1. Do you have any questions for me?

One of the most important questions, and usually, the last one. Make sure you have 2-3 questions ready to ask. This is your chance to find the answers you were looking for. You can have questions about the course, tutors, or something that is not clear to you.

And now, because we got you started somewhere, we’ll continue this blog with some tips and tricks on how to make a good first impression.

  1. Arrive early

Make sure you give yourself an extra 15 – 30 minutes to show punctuality. Plan your journey in advance, because this will give you time to re-read your application before the interview.

  1. Bring a copy of your application and your CV

They do not expect you to remember everything. So, bring with you a copy of your application and have a look at it before the interview. Bring some notes in regard to the course, institution, etc and show that you have done your research properly.

  1. Strike a balance between formal and causal

Make a great first impression by dressing smart. Keep it simple, and make sure you don’t look uncomfortable in your clothes, especially if you are not used to wearing suits.

  1. Do not let shyness or nerves to get in your way

It is perfectly normal to get nervous and be shy when it comes to interviews. However, try to focus on the subject and answer the questions naturally. Be you ?
We hope these tips and tricks will help you to achieve what you are aiming for.
