This Nursing BA/BSc (Hons) Top-Up course is designed to (Top-Up) a registered nurse qualification (e.g. RGN, RMN, RN, RNMH, RSCN). On successful completion, you will have an honours degree that underlines your advanced clinical expertise and professionalism.
The Structure of the Nursing BA/BSc (Hons) Top-Up programme allows entry onto the programme for those students who have studied a certificated nurse programme leading to the award Registered Nurse, and for the overseas Registered Nurse who also holds a Licence to Practice.

Its flexible, modular approach is designed to meet the needs of nurses working across a range of settings and specialities, in both the NHS and independent sectors. Study options focus on key areas for contemporary nursing – leadership; ageing and the life course; and public health.

The BA/BSc (Hons) Nursing (Top-Up) programme will therefore address the current NHS healthcare agenda. It places the necessary emphasis upon enhanced healthcare provision, the concepts of evidence-based practice, user and carer involvement, competent, knowledgeable healthcare practitioners, health promotion strategies and measurable quality outcomes of care. Furthermore, the student will be encouraged to explore and critically debate theoretical and practical issues within the context of own area/speciality of clinical practice.
