Overview

BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling can provide you with great career prospects if you’re passionate about psychology and if working in counselling or wellbeing sounds like your cup of tea. 

Studying a vast array of topics ranging from social, cognitive, biological and developmental psychology to research methods and design, you will learn to manage all sides of the therapeutic process. At the same time, the educational process will help you learn and make use of modern and digital learning tools. With the help of industry practitioners and respected researchers, this course helps you acquire a set of career-focused skills in professional counselling and psychology.

Assessment

Since applied learning is the focus of this course, the way students are assessed has also been designed to centre around real-world scenarios. Thus, assessment methods will include individual reports, case study analyses, role-play, group presentations, independent assignments, etc. The aim of these evaluations is that of enabling personal discovery and introspection, along with facilitating a link between the theoretical and the practical. Ultimately, they will ensure you have the right transferable skills that employers are looking for nowadays. 

Progression

Throughout the degree, you will gain gradual and progressively deeper knowledge and understanding of counselling and psychology. You can also pursue a Masters Degree in counselling, psychology or a related field. 

Self-Funding

The Tuition Fee of the course will vary depending on the institution you wish to study in, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU and International Students as well. Please contact us to find out the tuition fee for a specific course you’d like to know about.

Government Funds – Student Finance England         

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on Indefinite stay, you can receive support from the government via Student Loan Company to cover tuition fees and some living costs while studying, depending on your circumstances. Tuition fee loans, to cover the full cost of your course, are paid directly to the course provider. Maintenance loans can be applied for at the same time, lending you money at the start of each term. You won’t have to pay back the loan until after your course, when you’re earning above a certain level.  Students can still apply for grants if they’re eligible for certain benefits, disabled, or need help with childcare costs.
