Applicants must provide proof of their highest academic qualification, which can include:

  • International Baccalaureate
  • High School Level Qualifications
  • Level 2 Qualifications or equivalent (e.g., GCSEs, Level 2 NVQ, diplomas, certificates)

 

✅ English Proficiency and Admission Process

If English is not your first language, you must complete an English language test that assesses speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. We also accept a range of other English language qualifications.

Applicants will also need to attend an interview with a member of the admissions team.

Course overview

This course examines a variety of significant problems and debates concerning crime and the criminal justice system in a critical manner, and it also gives you a better grasp of the various reasons why people break the law. You will gain an in-depth understanding of crime, deviance and criminal justice from critical, theoretical, policy, legal, political and practical perspectives, and you will address historical and contemporary issues such as terrorism, sex work, forced migration, domestic violence, crime prevention, prison and punishment, policing, youth crime and justice, law enforcement, etc.

This BA in Criminology is intended for students who are interested in crime and the criminal justice system. While the precise focus and curriculum of such a degree may differ between universities, it often provides students with a comprehensive grasp of crime, criminal behaviour and the psychological elements that contribute to it. If you want to work in the criminal justice system and want to gain a solid understanding of criminology and its repercussions in modern society, this course is a great place to start.

Make sense of the criminal justice system by gaining a broad perspective on crime, punishment and victimisation. This course seeks to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of the major schools of thought in criminology, as well as their historical and political foundations and practical applications. You’ll receive hands-on experience with criminal justice systems as well as biological, social, and cognitive elements that influence behaviour at the individual and societal levels.

Course fee per year: £9.535

The Tuition Fee of the course may vary depending on the institution you wish to study at, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU & International Students and eligible for Student Loans Company (SLC) funding to help cover the cost of your tuition fees and other expenses.

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on an Indefinite stay, apart from the tuition fees, you could also receive support from the government via Student Loans Company to cover some living costs while studying.
