Applicants must provide proof of their highest academic qualification, which can include:

  • Level 2 Qualifications or equivalent (e.g., GCSEs, Level 2 NVQ, diplomas, certificates)

 

✅ English Proficiency and Admission Process

If English is not your first language, you must complete an English language test that assesses speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. We also accept a range of other English language qualifications.

Applicants will also need to attend an interview with a member of the admissions team.

Course overview

The BSc (Hons) Allied Health & Social Care with Foundation Year is designed for students who are interested in supporting the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities. The course provides a broad understanding of health and social care services while developing the knowledge and practical skills needed to work within multidisciplinary healthcare and community settings.

The Foundation Year offers additional academic support and introduces students to key concepts in health, social care, communication, research, and professional development. It helps students build confidence and the essential study skills required before progressing to degree-level modules.
Throughout the programme, students explore areas such as person-centred care, public health, safeguarding, psychology, anatomy and physiology, healthcare ethics, leadership, and integrated care. The course combines academic learning with practical application, encouraging students to understand the challenges facing modern health and social care services while developing the skills to support people with diverse needs.

Students also develop transferable skills including communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional decision-making, preparing them for careers across health, social care, and allied healthcare sectors.

Fees & funding

Course fee per year: £9.535

The Tuition Fee of the course may vary depending on the institution you wish to study at, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU & International Students and eligible for Student Loans Company (SLC) funding to help cover the cost of your tuition fees and other expenses.

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on an Indefinite stay, apart from the tuition fees, you could also receive support from the government via Student Loans Company to cover some living costs while studying.
