Course overview

This master’s degree is a deeply immersive, practice-led programme for professional performers, composers and music directors, along with other music professionals. You’ll get to refine your craft through individual lessons, ensemble workshops and composition or arranging modules tailored to your specific artistic journey.

Honing your performance and compositional skills, opportunities to direct ensembles and explore your instrumental or vocal voice will all be included. Additionally, modules on digital marketing, music writing, and positioning yourself in the industry are part of the curriculum. Your final stretch is dedicated to creating and performing a major body of creative work, either publicly or through various opportunities in a professional setting.
The structure is designed to support your artistic identity while also preparing you for leadership roles in music. What this means is leading ensembles, directing shows or developing as an independent creative professional. Assessment mainly revolves around the body of work you create, giving you time and space to take creative risks and shape your own narrative.
By the end of the course, you’ll have refined instrumental technique and developed your own artistic personality, ready to embark on a career as a professional performer, musical director, creative music leader, etc.
