Hospitality and Tourism Management

With a Top-up BA (Hons) in Hospitality and Tourism Management, students can complete the one-year course entirely in London, and highly qualified and experienced tutors will teach the course.

The Hospitality and Tourism Management course was created to help students develop essential skills such as employability and entrepreneurial skills, as well as attitudes and emotional aptitude for a career in tourism and hospitality management. Students will also face challenges in developing confidence, self-management, critical thinking, technical expertise, cultural perspectives, sustainable management, and practical leadership skills. 

The course will allow students to practice the essential management functions needed to advance their careers in the tourism and hospitality industries.

Course Length:  1 year;
Start dates:  January / April / August / September;

After completing the course, students will have the opportunity to pursue a career in:

–        Small tourism and hospitality enterprises, as an owner/manager

–        Entry-level and junior management roles in a variety of sub-sectors in the tourism and hospitality industry

–        Entry-level administrative positions in tourism related multilateral organisations

–        Consultancy positions in tourism and hospitality management as associates

–        Accommodation manager

–        Conference centre manager

–        Hotel manager

–        Restaurant manager

Or some graduates may prefer to pursue further higher studies at postgraduate level in the following fields:

–        Travel and tourism management

–        Hospitality management

–        Travel, tourism, and hospitality research

And more;

–        The (Top-Up) course is designed for applicants with a Level 5 qualification, such as a Higher National Diploma or other equivalents, or have completed the second year of a relevant degree

–        Applicants must have a relevant HND or a foundation degree with 240 credits in any Business and/or Management related areas

–        Overseas learners must demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of English language

–        Applicants must attend an interview with a member of the admission team

–        Applicants must bring the original certificates at the moment of registration

Assessment

Lectures, seminars, group projects, and e-learning are among the teaching methods used. Written exams, case studies, assignments, projects, and reports are all examples of assessment methods.

 In comparison to HND study, you will spend the majority of your time independently preparing for assessments and learning.

Progression

If you want to advance your career even further after finishing your undergraduate degree, you can apply for a postgraduate Master’s program.

Self-Funding

The tuition fee for the course may differ depending on the institution you choose as well as your residency status in the UK. The course is open to both UK/EU and international students.

Government Funds – Student Finance England 

If you are a UK/EU citizen or have an indefinite stay in the UK, you may be eligible for government assistance through the Student Loan Company to cover tuition fees and some living expenses while studying, depending on your circumstances.

 Tuition fee loans are paid directly to the course provider and cover the entire cost of your course. You can also apply for a Maintenance loan at the same time to help cover some of your expenses. At the start of each term, this loan will be deposited directly into your bank account.

You won’t have to pay back the loan until one year after graduation, when you earn more than a certain amount set by Student Loan. Other grants, such as those for disability or childcare costs, are also available to students, subject to availability and eligibility.
