If English is not your first language, you must complete an English language test that assesses speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. We also accept a range of other English language qualifications.

Applicants will also need to attend an interview with a member of the admissions team.

Course overview

The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security with Artificial Intelligence with Foundation Year is designed for students who want to build specialist knowledge in cyber security while exploring the growing role of artificial intelligence in protecting digital systems and information. The programme combines computing, cyber defence, and AI, preparing students to understand and respond to modern security threats.

The Foundation Year introduces essential concepts in computing, technology, mathematics, and academic study, helping students develop the knowledge and confidence needed to progress to degree-level learning.
Throughout the degree, students explore areas such as network security, ethical hacking, programming, digital forensics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data protection, and cyber risk management. Students also examine how AI technologies can support threat detection, identify suspicious activity, automate security processes, and improve the protection of digital environments.

The programme develops both technical and transferable skills, including problem-solving, analytical thinking, teamwork, communication, project management, and professional decision-making.

Course fee per year: £9.535

The Tuition Fee of the course may vary depending on the institution you wish to study at, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU & International Students and eligible for Student Loans Company (SLC) funding to help cover the cost of your tuition fees and other expenses.

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on an Indefinite stay, apart from the tuition fees, you could also receive support from the government via Student Loans Company to cover some living costs while studying.
