Entry Requirements

✅ Minimum Age: 18 years old

✅ Academic Qualifications:
Applicants must provide proof of their highest academic qualification, which can include:

Level 4 Qualifications (e.g., HNC, Level 4 NVQ, diplomas, or certificates)
International Foundation Year or equivalent
Successful completion of the first year of an undergraduate degree program or equivalent qualifications.
Relevant professional qualifications and experience may also be considered.
You may need to submit a personal statement outlining your readiness for the course, along with references and evidence of prior learning or professional experience.

✅ English Proficiency and Admission Process

If English is not your first language, you must complete an English language test that assesses speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. We accept various English language qualifications, such as IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent certifications.
Applicants will also be required to attend an interview with a member of the admissions team to discuss their application and suitability for the programme.

Course overview

The BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance with Foundation Year is designed for students who want to develop knowledge and practical skills in financial management, accounting, business operations, and the wider financial sector. The course provides a strong understanding of how financial systems support organisations and decision-making within modern businesses.

The Foundation Year helps students build confidence in academic study while introducing key concepts related to business, finance, communication, and research. It is ideal for students who would benefit from additional preparation before progressing to degree-level modules.
Throughout the programme, students explore areas such as financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, auditing, business finance, economics, and financial analysis. The course combines theoretical understanding with practical application, helping students interpret financial information, solve business problems, and understand the financial challenges faced by organisations.

Students also develop transferable skills including analytical thinking, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, numerical analysis, and professional decision-making, preparing them for careers within finance, accounting, and business sectors.

Fees & funding

Course fee per year: £9.535

The Tuition Fee of the course may vary depending on the institution you wish to study at, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU & International Students and eligible for Student Loans Company (SLC) funding to help cover the cost of your tuition fees and other expenses.

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on an Indefinite stay, apart from the tuition fees, you could also receive support from the government via Student Loans Company to cover some living costs while studying.

Fees breakdown

Tuition fee loans cover the full cost of your course and are paid directly to the course provider.
Maintenance Loan pays for day-to-day living expenses like rent, bills, food and books. Unlike the fees loan, it's paid directly to your student bank account once a term and you can spend it on anything you like.
Student Finance has to be paid back, however, you only make Student Loan repayments once you've left your course AND are earning enough. Repayments vary with your salary, and stop altogether if your income drops too low.
Students can also apply for other types of special support grants, such as childcare grants or Disabled Students' Allowance if eligible.
Moreover, almost all universities offer a selection of student bursaries. These are cash gifts you usually don't have to repay.
