Course overview

This course is designed to address the needs of students who want to work in the public sector, specifically the Police Service, Criminal Intelligence, Major Crime Investigation, Crime Analytics, and other Criminal Justice support organisations. You will gain a thorough understanding of the justice system and criminology, human psychology and sociology, diversity, health and safety, and your own personal efficiency and development in all scenarios involving crime and criminal services specialists. A Higher National Diploma can help you to improve your abilities and understanding of public services. You’ll learn how to identify and establish plans to tackle public-service-related challenges, as well as how to use communication, information technology, law, and policy effectively.

The HND in Public Services will provide you with a solid foundation in management and leadership ideas. You will obtain an awareness of the governmental, social, and psychological components of a career in public services, as well as how they connect to professional practice, through a series of modules. This HND offers you the opportunity to learn valuable information and relevant skills through a combination of theoretical study and practical practice, laying the groundwork for subsequent study or employment. This course will teach you time management, teamwork, and self motivation skills, as well as the sensitivity and openness required to deal with varied groups.
