Course overview

The BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering Top-up degree is intended to provide you with the knowledge and abilities required for a professional career in the sector. In electronic engineering, we use electricity to transport, process, and store data. This is the driving force behind today’s information revolution, and it serves as the foundation for common devices such as the mobile phone and computer, as well as a wide range of systems utilised in commerce and industry.

The bachelor’s degree in BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering is the foundation of the engineering sector. One of the program’s primary goals is to train prospective engineers for meaningful professional work in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering fields.

Electrical engineering is the study of motors and generators, as well as their control, power transmission and distribution systems, and the underlying principles. We leverage the knowledge that electricity may be used to carry and deliver energy in electrical engineering.
It powers many of our household appliances and keeps the wheels of industry spinning. We take it for granted since it is such an established and reliable aspect of our lives, yet it remains a fascinating and evolving topic of research.

This BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree will provide you ‘real world’ engineering knowledge and skills gained through a combination of theory and practice.
You can learn about cutting-edge and new technologies that are altering global electricity distribution networks, such as Smart Grids. You will be able to exhibit systematic knowledge, such as applying engineering principles to critically analyse essential processes, once you have completed the course.

With this degree, you will have earned the necessary academic knowledge and practical abilities to understand, use, improve, and design electrical and electronics-based technology.
Along with expanding your engineering-related knowledge, we will assist you in developing lifelong learning skills that you can reflect on, communicate, and use in your daily life.

Electronics is significantly reliant on semiconductor technology, which resulted in the development of the well-known microchip.
Electrical and electronic engineering both rely on the same fundamental scientific laws, yet they diverge significantly beyond these fundamentals. Because of the technology sector’s rapid growth, there is a rising demand for creative, experienced engineers both nationally and internationally. Many major electronics companies have research and development facilities in the United Kingdom and Europe. Engineers from the United Kingdom can be assigned to projects in other countries.

Electronics powers many of our household appliances and keeps the wheels of industry spinning. We take it for granted since it is such an established and reliable aspect of our lives, yet it remains a fascinating and evolving topic of research.
